Increase battery life and reduce heating of XOLO A800

Hello Everyone,

If you have a Xolo A800 and you have poor battery backup or if your phone heats up in your pocket then this guide is for you.

Below are the few steps you need to do to improve your phone's battery life.

NOTE: Your phone must be rooted for this to work.

Step 1
Download MTK6577 CPU Governor from XDA. (Awesome app)
Here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1850101&d=1364806811

Step 2
Next install it and open the app.

Step 3
Click on service started and then click on governor selection and choose ON DEMAND.

That's it! Now you will notice and increase in battery life. This has been tested by me and I am now getting a back up of more that 2 days on standby mode. :D
With Wi-Fi I am still getting more hours than before. :)

Below you can see the screen shot. The battery is still 80%. :D

XOLO A800 FIRST CUSTOM ROM! JB 4.2.2.

Hello Everyone,

I was finally able to port the first custom rom of xolo a800 with the help of Vipul Verma. He helped me fixing the auto focus and lots of other bugs. And guess what? Its bases on Android 4.2.2.
YES! Buttery smooth Jelly bean 4.2.2 on our mtk6577 phone. :D
The phone has amazing performance, smooth, less ram usage, Camera improved, better Wi-Fi signals, better notifications! So what are you waiting for? Just flash it!
Below are some screen shots! :D

Flashing:
Make sure you have CWM recovery installed on your Xolo A800. Refer my other post on how to do that. :)
First download these files and place it on the root of your sd card.

Wipe delvik cache under advanced settings.
Wipe battery stats.
7. Go back to main menu and install zip from sd card.
8. Flash XOLOA8004.2.2.zip

9. Again choose zip from sd card and install mini gapps.zip
10. Reboot system.
11. Wait for 5 minutes and enjoy.

I haven't noticed any bugs. Everything works perfectly fine. If you experience any difficulties then please comment below and tell me your problem. :)

** UPDATE**
After flashing this rom, the phone heats up a lot and also the battery backup isn't that good. This is because the kernel governor set by xolo is hybrid. This for some reason conflicts with this rom and hence it heats the phone up. To fix that just follow the simple steps in this post:
https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3851074764664068157#editor/target=post;postID=5984823610826540059;onPublishedMenu=posts;onClosedMenu=posts;postNum=0;src=postname
The problem will be solved. I'm still using this rom. There are absolutely no bugs and it's pure android. No modifications and you can install the google apps you require. :)
